With more than 20 years of experience, he is renowned across South East Queensland as a highly-skilled orthopaedic surgeon committed to best-in-class patient care. Additionally, he has completed hand and upper extremity fellowship training in Canada and Australia. After being a staff surgeon at one of Canada’s busiest trauma hospitals, he has been practising on the Sunshine Coast since 2006.

Dr Kim Latendresse listens to patients’ concerns, evaluates the impact of their condition and provides a recommended treatment plan individualised to their needs and expectations.

Dr Latendresse completed his medical degree and orthopaedic surgery training in Canada, initially qualifying as a surgeon with Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2000, a certification he actively maintains. He then trained for a year at the internationally recognised Roth McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre in London, Ontario, where he gained expertise in hand, wrist and elbow surgery. He gained further experience in hand and wrist surgery for an additional year at the prestigious Hand Surgery Fellowship at Sydney Hospital and St Luke’s Private Hospital in Sydney NSW. Dr Latendresse practiced at one of Canada’s busiest trauma hospitals in Montreal from 2002, before relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 2006. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Orthopaedic Surgeons, after passing examination, in 2009.


Dr Latendresse maintains a keen interest in teaching the future generation of orthopaedic surgeons, including being one of the Trainee Supervisors at SCUH and NGH, and being a regular faculty member on the AO Trauma Basic and Advanced Principles of Fracture Management courses.
